Why Tencel Is the Future of Menswear (And Why We Use It)

Why Tencel Is the Future of Menswear (And Why We Use It)

Everybody cares how their clothes feel, how long they last and the impact they have on the planet. This is why we use Tencel.

There is sometimes confusion about what exactly Tencel is. Put simply, it is a modern type of viscose fabric. Viscose is made by processing wood into yarn, which is then woven into cloth. However, not all viscose is created equal, and this is where Tencel stands apart from traditional viscose.

 1. It's soft and smooth.

Imagine somewhere between cotton and silk. That’s what Tencel feels like. It’s cool against your skin and super soft.

 2. It breathes, so you stay fresh.

Tencel is moisture-wicking and breathable. So, you stay fresh, even when things get hot, hosting the BBQ or just existing on the Tube in August.

 3. It’s eco-friendly – this is where it really stands apart.

Sustainable Tencel is made from wood pulp—mainly eucalyptus—using a closed-loop system that recycles 99% of the water and solvents used. No toxic chemicals are involved, and all the wood is sourced from carefully managed new forests, ensuring no ancient woodland is harmed. Tencel also typically uses 20 times less water than cotton.

 4. It makes our prints pop.

We are sustainable but we are not boring, our prints are designed to stand out, so by using Tencel our prints stay sharp wash after wash.

 5. It hangs well

The fabric is a little drapey which helps to provide a flattering silhouette to most body shapes.

TL;DR:

We chose Tencel because it’s soft, sustainable, and perfect for showing off our unique prints. It’s premium, planet-friendly, and makes men look their best.
